New Target with High Grade Historic Drilling intercepts
Exploration Status
Target Highlights:
- Lies along margin of Cycle II and Cycle III volcanics of the Confederation Belt
- Integrated historic drilling up to 118 g/t Au, historic underground workings, historic stripping, and Ontario magnetic data into the greenfield model
- Surface program planning and preliminary drill planning underway
Project Overview
The BobJo property lies within a structurally complex package of Cycle-III mafic volcanic rocks. Prior explorers have drilled the property and have outlined up to 118 g/t Au in 2007 in folded vein units. Intersection of both folded and tabular vein units evident in historic trenches is prioritized for follow-up drill testing.
Geological Context
The BobJo project lies adjacent to the contact between the Cycle II and Cycle III volcanics within the Cycle III sequence. Two kilometres to the east, the Grasset, Uchi, Hanalda, and Jalda mine trends have combined historic production of 757,000 tonnes at 5.14 g/t gold, with the Grasset Mine alone producing 78,000 tonnes at 7.54 g/t gold. Historic stripping has delineated northwesterly trending gold-bearing veins as well as folded veins with westerly trending axial planes1. The property was drilled in 2007 and returned gold values up to 118 g/t with visible gold recorded.
A preliminary lithostructural interpretation has been completed that targets high-grade hinge zones of the BobJo Property along the northerly trending calc-alkaline and tholeiitic basalt contacts subparallel to north-trending regional faulting. A surface work program is being designed across the project to advance towards a maiden drill project, with preliminary targets identified.
Next Steps
- Design and implement Greenfield Surface exploration program
- Final selection of maiden drill targets
- Advance to drill-ready
